Edvard Munch and Babies

As part of my series of Edvard Munch’s Scream interpreted in textile techniques, I made a carved linoleum block for fabric printing.  It is featured on two pieces now in an exhibit at the American Swedish Institute, “Scream (In Stitches).”  It is up until August 5.  I’ll post more photos from the exhibit soon.  In addition to the two pieces for my series, I used the image on baby onesies for two special babies.  Photos of Becky Franklin and Sam Drong’s son Archer are in the exhibit, featured by one of the explanatory labels.

lenaI plan to offer many of the onesies for sale at the Weavers Guild annual Fiber Fair this fall.  And all of the recipient babies might have to be added to an online gallery.
