Leftover warp on the loom is an opportunity for play and exploration; this week the theme was texture. I began to work with shades of white, and then switched to gray. This piece was the result.
It’s not so large, but this experimentation will lead to a larger piece. This gives you an idea of scale.
I started with shades of white. Lesson learned: Even though yarn might appear quite white by itself, the shades can look remarkably different when next to each other.
I really loved the working with bands of gray made by texture.
I’m taking a color class, and have a few color-filled projects in the planning state. But this piece reflects the colors that are prominent in our warmer-than-usual late February landscape.
Now, off to the colorful warp.
Love your juxtaposition of weaving with the photo of February!
