My studio has been gathering dust since I went back to work for the Legislative Reference Library last month, a short-term stint during this legislative session, helping during a staff transition. It’s been enormously fun to be back with my great colleagues (in the Library and throughout the capitol) and to be immersed in the life of the Legislature.

Though my looms are cold and silent, I’ve still been at work on exciting textile activities. The new issue of the Norwegian Textile Letter came out, and it’s been shared and enjoyed by many — well over 5000 views!
I’ve also been preparing for the upcoming exhibit of our Scandinavian Weavers Study Group members in the Community Gallery of the Textile Center of Minnesota. Our focus last year was RED, and the upcoming exhibit, on view from May 12-June 25, 2016, is the result.
I’ve posted a bit more about the exhibit on the Scandinavian Weavers Study Group blog, and more information about the pieces in the show will be posted soon. I wrote about my piece in the show, with an eight-pointed star in rya, last fall.
