This piece came off the loom right before I started work on the “Wooly Ice Cream” weaving. Coming back to it now, it was like a gift to just have a few hours of finishing work before calling it done.
In my series of X danskbrogd pieces inspired by historical Norwegian coverlets, this was the one that came closest–to me–to the color sensibility of one of my favorites, mostly deeper colors with sparks of light and bright. I printed out a photo of the old piece, covered it with plastic tape, and kept it around the loom as I wove.
