And now the Eagle is OFF my Loom

I’ve been weaving a large bird for a long time. Life can be full of unplanned events, sometimes getting in the way of weaving. For background on the eagle image and the bottom border, see this post from December: Why is an Eagle on my Loom?

Here’s a recap of my progress, in several photos along the way.

Only the top of his head was visible as I wove the top border.

A review of the cartoon.

With threads cut at the top of the loom, he drops to the floor.

And now he is loosely tied to the top bar. Lots of work remains to be done. The bottom knots will be undone, and the fringe tied. On top I will braid long strips that will go over a branch. My friend Holly Hildebrandt has been amassing a variety of branch thicknesses on the North Shore, and we will find the perfect one when I return from Dublin. (Dublin! We are going tomorrow for a week. Suggestions welcome.)
