I took a break from online work today and completed a small task: hemming the ends of the piece I wove while demonstrating at the State Fair. Before my day at the fair, Kala Exworthy posted that she thought the warp on the loom looked best with a plain dark weft. I dug in my stash of fabric strips and found a big ball of a purple pattern, thinly cut. Here’s the result, and the weft. It was a good choice because the weaving was simple and fast. I had lots of time to talk with visitors. I think I have to develop a better canned speech to answer the question, “I don’t understand weaving at all. Can you tell me about it?”
