This is a non-weaving week, as I am visiting beautiful granddaughter Coralie in Fort Kent, near the Canadian border. Packing took precedence over weaving before I left, so my nearly-completed warp with two fleece/fur experiments will have to wait until I return. One piece incorporates fabric strips with mink and other fur strips. As a practical outcome, it will become a deliciously soft pillow. Searching through my fabric stash for suitable backing, I found a scrap of “tapestry” from an antique shop. The pretentious scene is pretty much unrelated to real life in the modern world. I couldn’t use it in an un-ironic way, so I embellished it with some possible thoughts on the part of the people.
Next week, a photo of the fur side.
