I posted a while back about taking a felting class, at which I replicated my cat. A loyal follower wrote, “Could you make my dog Lulu?” Since that reader was my mother, I said of course, and requested several photos showing various angles of Lulu’s body. Yesterday, on Mother’s Day, I worked at re-creating Mom’s chubby small dog, after finding just the right chihuahua-colored roving at the Textile Center of Minnesota shop. It’s a challenging process, requiring constant peering at the photos to notice the angles of her face, her haunches, and her chest. I poked and shaped, and some body parts came out well, considering this is only my second animal attempt. Overall, however, her body in real life is larger in proportion to her head, compared to the felted replica. So that makes it Lulu’s glamour shot, with the slimmer, smaller body of her dreams. Happy Mother’s day, Mom!

She’s looking really beautiful. Thanks so much. Guy looks like he may like this better than the real thing.Love,Mom
