A small store on Prout’s Neck on the coast of Maine, Carryall, keeps nearby vacationers supplied with essentials: coffee, the NYT, pastries, and penny candy. The granddaughters love putting just a few Swedish fish in a paper bag.
The beautifully appointed space also fetures paintings in appropriately fresh beach colors, and some lovely textiles, including blankets from Minnesota! – from the Faribault woolen mill. Daughter-in-law Lucy liked the cozy cotton throw.
They also had a handwoven baby blanket made by Swans Island Company (for $275). The blanket was lovely, but the amazing part was the custom linen-covered presentation box with beautiful labels – appropriate for a blanket woven with care.
