Here’s an exuberant pillow with kavelfrans embellishment on both sides, and tassels exploding from the corners, photographed on a sunny Minnesota winter day.
The base is a wool remnant from the Faribault Woolen Mill. Perhaps the pillow would make a great companion to a blanket sold by the mill.
The tassels are attached to the pillow using a traditional Swedish method described on a Hemslojd site. See: “Sätt tofs på en dyne.” These tassels will never come detached. It’s a marvelous method.
