It’s not so amazing that a student from one of my Frida Hansen transparent tapestry workshops might like the technique so much that they create multiple samples. But Priscilla Lynch is unique in that she was not able to attend the workshop last month for family health reasons, and then she wove three pieces anyway! Priscilla is a skilled, long-time tapestry weaver, and she said she has been reading my blog posts about transparencies for a long time. Let’s admire her home-study results.

I sent my pack of handouts to Priscilla when she wasn’t able to come. She wrote, “They answered a lot of questions I had planned to ask.” That’s reassuring!
Among those of us who weave in Norwegian techniques, Priscilla has a pretty famous tapestry — her take on the often-woven motif of the Wise and Foolish Virgins. Here’s her modern take.

I’m sorry that Priscilla wasn’t able to be a part of our enthusiastic workshop group, but hope that she keeps weaving in Frida Hansen’s technique. I think she should go big in her next venture.
