Rya and Tapestry

I posted information about marvelous weavings on the Scandinavian Weavers Study Group blog today.  Our group had a wonderful meeting in October, when we visited the home of one of our members, Karin Maahs.  From her grandparents, she owns the weaving underway in this painting, and also the cartoon for the weaving.  The cartoon and painting were done by her grandfather, Hans Berg, and the weaving was done by her grandmother, the figure in the painting.  Talk about great provenance!  Read more here.

Secondly, there is a great exhibit up now in the Weavers Guild, capping the work of the year-long “Rya Exploration Group.” If you are a reader here in Minnesota, you should visit!  Read more here.
